Confirm what is already aboard
Ask whether towels, drinking water, refreshments, tableware or other equipment are included. Find out what food and drinks may be brought and whether any packaging is restricted. Catering, storage and serving arrangements should be agreed before the group arrives, rather than improvised at the dock.
Pack for the spaces and time outdoors
A soft bag is easier to accommodate than assuming room for hard luggage. Discuss footwear requirements with the crew, then bring clothing appropriate to the conditions, a hat and sunglasses. If swimming is part of the proposed outing, ask the operator what is suitable and what equipment is provided. Follow the crew's instructions on the day.
Prepare the group before the meeting time
Share the exact boarding address and contact instructions with everyone. Ask the operator which identification or guest details are required and when they are needed. Give a complete guest count, including children, and discuss any particular boarding or mobility needs early. Do not assume one person's preferences cover the whole group.
Check conditions and the trip home
Review the current marine forecast with the operator close to departure and reconfirm any change to the plan. Arrange transport around the confirmed location and expected return, with an appropriate buffer. Keep the day's contact details available and agree how the group will communicate if someone is delayed.
